Notes: Road Base is meant to have concrete or asphalt or another type of harder surface put over the top of it. If left without having something put over the top, it can become muddy and sticky when wet. Road base is one of the densest products and is much heavier per cubic yard than many products.
Road Base NEEDS to be compacted.
The weight of this products changes with moisture content. It can be as heavy as 1.5-1.7 tons when wet.
1 yard is equal to approximately 1.3 tons
Please Note– We recommend that you look at this product in person before ordering. None of our rock products are “washed” but they are screened to size and they could be dusty or contain some fines. This is natural rock and colors can fluctuate slightly across different veins in the mountain. Over time, even the same rock source may have slightly different colors.
